In the period before her behest as the First Lady of the United States, Melania was into professional modeling. She had also featured in most of the fashion magazines and campaigns. During the 1990s, Melania commenced modeling. She had worked in several international fashion capitals like Slovenia and the United States. The former first lady, formerly known by her maiden name, Melania Knauss, has never been afraid to name-drop her fashion credentials. Her 2016 White House biography name-checked a few of the top shooters she's worked with, including Patrick Demarchelier, Helmut Newton, Arthur Elgort, Ellen von Unwerth, Peter Arnell, Antoine Verglas and Mario Testino. It also listed her magazine covers for Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, British GQ, Ocean Drive, Avenue, In Style and New York Magazine. Trump's Vogue cover was tied to her 2005 wedding. But the fact that she was not granted a Vogue cover as first lady has been a point of consternation, especially as Jill Biden and other recent first ladies have.
