Raymour & Flanigan, one of the leading furniture and mattress retailers in the country, has just expanded its Staten Island presence-an outlet store has been added to the borough, just a parking lot away from its long-time New Springville showroom.
Situated just outside the Staten Island Mall, the store occupies space that had been filled by Staples, which left the shopping center in March. The latest retail addition shares the same Richmond Avenue parking lot as Dick's Sporting Goods, Men's Warehouse, The Vitamin Shoppe and Starbucks. A bright purple signage shouting "Now Open – Sofas starting at $399," decked up the store heralding its grand opening on Aug. 9.
Raymour & Flanigan was founded in 1947 and today has 130 locations throughout the Northeast. The company's website describes the outlet expansion of the brand as one designed to complement current stores, carrying "a selection of high-quality furniture and stylish designs without an upgraded price tag. The stock includes bedroom sets, sectionals, accent furniture, desks, rugs, and other essentials. Discounted mattresses and box springs lead the sales at the store.
However, the retailer said that its discounted furniture does not equate to a discounted experience. "In our outlet furniture stores, you can expect the same level of attention and service we provide in all of our showrooms," the retailer said on its website. "Our highly trained associates are ready to assist you every step - from the showroom to customer care to delivery."
Merchandise at the outlet is still said to feature heavy-duty "white glove" and next-day mattress delivery. Protection plans and financing are also available at the outlet.
"In our outlets, you'll find furniture in popular styles, such as farmhouse rustic and mid-century modern, and of course, timeless classic and traditional styles," the company said. "Our outlet stores are flush with beautiful new styles at everyday low prices.
