nelson
Ruben Amorim. United soon settled on an agreement to pay the €10m release clause for Amorim shortly after sacking Erik ten Hag, but talks over Amorim's 30-day notice period with the Portuguese champions and an agreement on terms to bring his backroom staff to Old Trafford delayed the move. The 39-year-old - who remains at Sporting until the international break - faced his old club for the first time last week. The Portuguese outfit insists that their head coach sees out his notice period, meaning he would face Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday. "Manchester United is pleased to confirm the appointment of Ruben Amorim as men's first team head coach, subject to the approval of terms by the requisite third-party authorities and dependent upon the receipt of the required visa," a statement said. He will join until June 2027, with an additional year club option once he has seen out his commitments with his current club. He will link up with Manchester United on Monday, November 11.
