Thomas Tuchel to be New Manager for England.

Erstwhile Bayern Munich and Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is inching close to take on the mantle of a new manager for the England national team. As per reports, he has signed a contract and his appointment will be officially announced.

The 51-year-old Tuchel had a glittering managerial career and won the UEFA Champions League title in 2021 while at Chelsea. That means he returns to England, where he was good during the season with the then Premier League club.

Tuchel had been among the frontrunners since Gareth Southgate stepped down after England was defeated in the Euro 2024 final. The Football Association has avoided confirmation.

Interim manager appointed Lee Carsley has also publicly declared mixed emotions about the role. Feeling that the best candidate should be selected regardless of nationality, England have seen mixed results under Carsley.

This would make him the third foreign manager of the Three Lions to have donned the role alongside Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello.
