Navcrew Posted October 8 Share Posted October 8 There are numerous research grant opportunities for students in stem, however, with black students being among underrepresented groups, some grant programs prioritize research students from Africa and black Americans. Here are a few of these research grants: - NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP): They offer fellowships to outstanding graduate students in STEM with a priority for African American students. - Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Scholarship for Women of Color: The SWE offers scholarships for female students engineering and technology. They prioritize black women. - Google’s Generation Scholarship: This is offered to computer science degree students from underrepresented groups, including African Americans. The National GEM Consortium: GEM funds graduate STEM students from underrepresented minority groups via fellowships and professional mentorships. UNCF (United Negro College Fund) for STEM: The UNCF offers scholarships, research grants, and mentorship for Black students in STEM fields, with priority given to students in the biomedical and life sciences degrees. The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) STEM Scholarships: The TMCF is focused on delivering STEM research funding programs for students in Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME): The NACME offers several funding opportunities for African American students in STEM.
