Blogger Posted September 27 Share Posted September 27 Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno, wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom and First Lady of the state, has died. Mrs. Eno died peacefully at the hospital on Thursday surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was aged 57 years. The state Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong, confirmed the news in a statement early Friday morning. The family resigns to the will of the Almighty and asks for the prayers and support of well-wishers during this sad occasion, the statement said, noting that other details concerning the burial arrangement would be announced by the family in due course. Meanwhile, the family called on the public to allow them to mourn their wife, mother and grandmother in privacy. Governor Umo Eno, while thanking those who have stood by the first family through this period of bereavement, said despite his personal loss, he remained committed to service in the state.
